About
Olivia Korn-Kochen, LCSW
I am an integrative psychotherapist with a master of clinical social work from Columbia University. I have dedicated my professional life to learning experiential approaches that focus on the mind-body connection, attachment theory, and healing trauma.
I am passionate about sharing what I have learned through my extensive training, holistic psychotherapy practice, my own healing work, and having designed and taught an innovative somatic-based trauma course for social work graduate students.
My Areas of Expertise
My areas of expertise are body-based trauma including sexual assault and birth trauma, attachment trauma, women’s issues, body image concerns/ self-esteem, transitioning to motherhood/ maternal wellness, perfectionism, chronic stress & pain, anxiety, relationship issues, dating and break-ups, career challenges/ work stress and boundary setting and phobias & fears. Additionally, I relate to and enjoy working with people who are facing experiences with bi-cultural relationships, immigration/ expats, and the unique challenges that one faces in the process of relocating to a new country.
I believe in our shared humanity and the ability to lead more joyful lives, and I am humbled to be a witness to people’s therapeutic experiences. My academic learning, clinical training, trauma studies, love for travel, living around the U.S, and in Spain, my yoga practice, personal experience, and constant curiosity have shaped my work and approach to therapy. I have a gentle, innovative, collaborative, and creative approach, where my hope is to connect people to their inner sense of resilience and internal healing resources.
